Sharing his own personal family story passed on from his grandmother to his mother and eventually to himself, former Federal Chancellor of Austria and current leader of the opposition of the Social Democratic Party of Austria, Christian Kern calls on the importance of rememberance in the fight against antisemitism. Today, he sees the "chain of rememberance breaking" and sees an urgent need in increasing efforts to keep alive the memory about where antisemitism ultimately can lead.  As he sees antisemitism as an "insult to society", Kern makes clear that both rememberance and the fight against antisemitism are our own personal and social responsibility.
